Accessibility
This site is built to be used with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, at a large text size, and with a high-contrast theme. That is a commitment rather than a claim: the checks that hold it are part of the test suite and run on every change.
The standard we hold
WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Every colour pairing the site renders is measured against it rather than assumed, and an automated audit runs over every page — including the states a visitor puts a page into, such as a rejected form, a rendered result, or an open menu.
Using it without a mouse
A skip link is the first thing the Tab key reaches, so the header does not have to be crossed to get to a calculator. Every control shows a visible focus ring. The header menus and the language menu open, move and close from the keyboard, and Escape closes a menu and puts focus back where it came from.
Screen readers
A result is announced when it appears, without stealing focus from where you were. A rejected field says what is wrong in words, and focus moves to it. Every table, region and menu is named, so moving by landmark or by table lands somewhere identified rather than on something unnamed.
Nothing is said in colour alone
Where a colour carries meaning — a requirement met or not met, a field rejected — a word and a shape say the same thing beside it. The site is usable in Windows High Contrast Mode, and a request for reduced motion is honoured.
Before the scripts arrive
The header menus are built so they open, close and take the keyboard with no JavaScript at all, and the page reads correctly in English before the translation table loads. A slow connection should cost you speed, not access.
What is not done yet
Two things worth naming rather than leaving for you to find. The comparison tables scroll sideways on a narrow screen, which works but is not comfortable. And the six translations were prepared for this site; they have not been reviewed by a professional translator in each language.
